When doing print work, I always try to keep things lively and interesting, and I think the selected work below fits that paradigm well.
Feuille Fine Wines - Annual Report Design
This project was to create an annual report for a fictional company. It was an interesting project because it allowed me to step outside my comfort zone as far as subject matter. As a bit of a challenge to myself, I went with an industry that I didn't know much about, to see if I could still create an effective company identity. I think the final result really captures the elegance and long tradition of the wine industry.
Wandering Jordans CD Cover
This project required that I create an album cover for a fictional band. I wanted the cover to tie into the name of the band, but also create that sense of adventure you get when you journey along a path you have never been down before. I loved the shape of the trees in this particular shot; it makes it seem like you're stepping into a time warp. I think the "vortex" of vibrant color helps to accent that feeling.
NMPD Showcase Poster Concept
While creating this concept, I noticed that many of the posters chosen in previous years were quite technical looking, with computers and motherboards being a popular theme. This was all well and good, because the New Media Production & Design course does focus on technical aspects of media development, but it seemed to me that the aspect of "design" had been neglected to a degree. With this in mind, I wanted to create something more artistic and design focused, while still communicating what the program is about. My inspiration was also the inside of a computer, but rather than giving it a literal treatment, I chose abstract shapes and colors that I felt represented the technology, creating an artistic piece that I feel really speaks to every facet of the program.
