The following are examples of some of my 3D work. For one reason or another, I find that most of the things I create in 3D are more playful, and tend to be a lot more abstract than my other projects. Eventually, I hope to combine 3D graphics with some of my more interactive web work, which could create a very interesting presentation.
Rocket Bike
The assignment here was to create a bike of some kind. I think I was in a bit of a quirky, random mood the day we were assigned this one. The concept of the really little trike with a massive jet engine on the back was one that just popped into my head and stayed there. Every time I see this piece, I get a picture in my mind of someone riding this down the road, rocketing out of control, and hitting the side of a mountain, in classic cartoon style.
Home for Dinner
This more recent work is probably a favorite of all my 3D art. I love the realism I was able to achieve with this, as well as the subtle, "I know that scene all too well" feeling that sweeps over me when I see it. It reminds me of a cottage we used to go to at the lake every summer during my childhood, and I'd always run back to it as the sun went down, my hands full of little "treasures" from the beach.
